We are a company that services a clientele base within the intensive and extensive livestock industries in Southern Africa. 4Mix is a company whose mantra is based on the philosophy of “Sharing in each other’s responsibility”. By very definition we believe in exemplifying the principles of discipline, attitude, accountability and responsibility towards our clientele, suppliers and everyone else who crosses our path.
4Mix International’s vision is to enjoy life while we grow our business, to share our knowledge with others and to have the courage and conviction to take on new challenges. We want to create a secure and balanced environment which should involve all those with whom we do business. In the end, we strive to never undermine the values of our founding statement – “Born out of trust, integrity and passion”.
At 4Mix International (Pty) Ltd we believe that product quality, service and people are key factors to our existence. This is why we have invested in the symbol “Q”, trademarking it to ensure that we always look to the foundation of the company.
About us
4Mix International started in July 2004 as a premix company, focusing on the micronutrients needed by livestock for optimal production. As various needs started arising in the industry, 4Mix started doing research on various solutions for these needs. And so, we started producing various feed additives, concentrates and specialised final feeds.
Immunity is the foundation on which 4Mix is built. We believe that a premix provides the foundation for optimal immunity in a farm’s animals. Without immunity, an animal cannot perform, no matter how perfectly the diet is balanced or how perfect the management is.
At the end of the day, to meet the demand for food security on a global scale, ever-increasing efficiencies are required. Our aim is to equip the South African producer with the tools required to meet these demands. The vitamin and mineral requirements of your animals are such a small portion of your feed, and yet they play such an important role in production and reproduction efficiency. If we can help a farm to reach those requirements, that farm is well on its way to achieving more efficient production in the long run.
4Mix does not believe in merely selling a product. We believe in selling a service with that product. This ensures that the product is used at the correct level and in the correct production phases. To state it simply, we believe in optimising farm production, starting at the micronutrient level.
For 4Mix, it is all about sharing in each other’s responsibility. We aim to unlock potential on every farm where we are involved.
What we offer
4Mix International believes in offering a service to our clients along with our products. We are in contact with local and international experts to ensure that our products are at the forefront of industry. We believe in a holistic approach and place a lot of emphasis on optimising gut health. Our products are also developed and tested locally.
We offer regular on-farm support and we want to work hand-in-hand with every farm’s nutritionist and veterinarian. These regular visits ensure our continued presence on your clients farms and the ability to sell the product out of your stores.
Coupled to our ability to sell selected products out of your stores we also believe in upskilling the staff in various branches. We offer a training program for the staff of any branch selling 4Mix products, as well as continued support thereafter. We believe this is the best way to improve our mutual clients’ performance.
Feed sampling
It is one thing to formulate a perfectly balanced diet, but it is another thing to consistently mix a perfectly balanced diet. For this reason, we offer quarterly tests to our clients to test their raw materials or final diets. This allows us to determine what quality raw materials our country can offer while formulating and giving the client an accurate idea of what the animals consume. This analysis includes wet chemistry and testing for mycotoxins.
Research & Development
Our technical team is always reading about new technology available in the industry and new ways to improve livestock management and nutrition. We love sharing this research with our clients and we produce booklets like “The Natural Approach” to keep our clients informed about new innovations in our industry in an “easy-to-read” fashion.
Need 4 Feed
The Need4Feed team is an initiative started by 4Mix to create a safe environment for our clients to share their farm data. During Need4Feed meetings, we encourage discussion among clients and we introduce guest speakers to address specific issues faced in our industry. This allows everyone to learn from each other as well as industry experts.
On-Farm Assistance
At 4Mix, we believe it is essential to get our hands dirty. It is important for us to do regular farm visits in order to ensure that our products are always performing optimally. On-farm visits allow us the opportunity to understand each client better, to build relationships and to ensure that we keep each farm’s best interest at heart.
